- At
18 months babies move to the Toddler Room until they
reach the age of 2½ years.
 
 At
18 months babies move to the Toddler Room until they reach
the age of 2½. There is an individually tailored transition
from the baby unit to the Toddler Room with practitioners providing
our toddlers with age appropriate, stimulating activities whilst
the children are encourage to play together.
There is lots of fun experiencing many sensory
and “hands on” activities such as sand, water,
jelly, gloop and play dough. Daily use is made of our outdoor
spaces at every opportunity.
Practitioners provide different resources
daily according to each toddler’s individual needs in
order to promote their growth and development. In addition
to this the toddlers’s have the opportunity to join in
with a special daily activity such as “soft play” with
large foam shapes, music time with the babies and pre-school
children, arts and crafts, messy play, story telling, roleplay,
mark-making and painting.
The toddler room leader ensures there is
daily communication via a “communication” diary
and parents/carers have the opportunity to chat with keyworkers
daily.
